This design was reestablished as the flag of El Salvador in 1912. The coat of arms of El Salvador located on the center of the flag contains a triangle in the center background, and in front of that a piece of land, which is a mountain chain of five volcanoes. The golden writing around the edge of the coat of arms reads, "Republica de El Salvador en la America Central," and the writing under the triangle reads, "Dios, Union y Libertad."
